LumenRadio DIN rail PRO launch

New PRO versions of the W-BACnet and W-Modbus DIN rail products expand your connectivity options.

LumenRadio, known for replacing cables with reliable and user-friendly wireless solutions, is expanding its wireless building automation portfolio by introducing two new PRO versions of their W-BACnet and W-Modbus DIN rail products. These new offerings boast enhanced capabilities and greater connectivity options.

As buildings become smarter, the demand for more sensors, actuators, and controllers increases, which typically results in more cabling. LumenRadio’s W-Modbus and W-BACnet products address this challenge by replacing traditional Modbus and BACnet cabling with a robust wireless mesh technology. This technology simplifies installation, eliminates the need for time-consuming planning, daisy-chaining, and troubleshooting, all while reducing costs. These products are available in two formats: a wall-mounted unit, ideal for placement next to room controllers, and a DIN rail version, which fits seamlessly beside controllers in a DIN rail cabinet.

The newly launched DIN rail PRO versions of the W-Modbus and W-BACnet now allow users to connect up to four Modbus servers or BACnet devices to a single unit, offering increased installation flexibility. These PRO versions are capable of connecting multiple downstream Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP devices, further lowering installation costs and time, while still maintaining a low latency and a reliable wireless connection.

Carl Wäppling, Product Development Manager for Building Automation and Industrial Control Systems at LumenRadio, expressed his excitement about the new launch:

“The DIN rail version of W-Modbus and W-BACnet have been highly popular among our customers,  significantly increasing the use of wireless Modbus and BACnet in smart buildings. However, we identified a gap in our product line and listened to our customers that wanted to be able to connect even more devices to one wireless device. The PRO version is our response to that need.”

“This solution is ideal for projects involving submetering, where multiple meters are housed in a single cabinet, and fast, easy installation is required without the hassle of running cables between cabinets. It can also be a very useful tool when you have multiple zone controllers or VAV units next to each other and the DIN rail is already there. The DIN rail form factor has become an installer’s best friend.”
