Purpose: Meeting the customer’s control application needs through inside sales and control panel fabrication.

Primary Responsibilities (Inside Sales):

  • Execute entire inside sales process (including quotes and returns) including in-person/counter sales and phone orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Fulfill the orders for Will Call pick up and follow up with the necessary customer communication.
  • Follow up regarding customer satisfaction inquiries.
  • Assist with updating/maintaining accurate customer databases.
  • Participate in updating seasonal inventory displays.
  • Assist and resolve customer requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Accommodate necessary changes in work schedule to support business needs (i.e. adjust work hours for the day or be able to work occasion overtime).
  • Make recommendations for product line (additions/deletions/min-max changes).
  • Know and understand manufacturer catalogs and literature.
  • Process credit cards following established PCI compliant procedures.
  • Keep up to date on market trends, new products, and the application of those products.
  • Contributes to evaluation and process improvement initiatives. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Primary Responsibilities (Inside Sales):

  • Wiring electrical panels.
  • Create wiring diagrams per customer requirements providing the best technical solutions for the customer’s applications.
  • Panel fabrication (independently manage the mechanical layout needs for panel components, accurate measurements, safe use of appropriate tools for mounting/fabrication needs, and ensure safe/proper shipping of completed panel to customer).
  • Follow U.L. Listing requirements: keeping up with code changes; compliance and ongoing necessary training.
  • Ability to develop BOM (Bill of Material), submittals, SOP (Sequence of Operation), and estimated engineering hours for wiring diagrams and panel fabrication.
  • Independently work with customer to review application requirements for proper product selection.
  • Understand and apply temperature, humidity, pressure, flow field devices, along with automated control valves.
  • Knowledge of “tuning loops,” along with a basic ability to work with testing equipment (such as voltmeters).
  • Reading blueprints and specs to ensure accurate assembly/building.
  • Mount assembled components, such as transformers, panel boards, capacitors, circuit breakers, switches and CT’s in cabinets.
  • Ability to effectively use hand tools and power tools to assemble customized units.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering documentation and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret General Arrangement Drawings (GA) and Electrical Diagrams.
  • Install electrical components (i.e., PLCs, HMIs, Overcurrent Protection, etc.) per design.
  • Assemble electrical control enclosures per design.
  • Wire 24/120/208/230/460 circuits.
  • Terminate wiring at point of use and within control enclosures.
  • Conduct I/O, loop checks and other quality functions to ensure a quality product.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment is maintained.
  • Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support Shipping/Receiving processes as needed.

Other Skills/Knowledge:

  • HVACR or Electrical experience or a degree/certification in these or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Preferred understanding of IT networking and various industry protocols (such as Modbus, LON, BACNET, Honeywell, JCI, Tridium, etc.).
  • CAD or Visio programming experience a plus Exercise independent decision making and use discretion and judgement that is in line with company’s culture and business goals.
  • Able to build and maintain effective, positive internal/external working relationships with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Demonstrates integrity and accountability in all work activities.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic.
  • Participate in self-learning and company directed training on and off site.
  • Willing to be cross trained as required to meet necessary business goals.
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities and demonstrate effective time-management.
  • Able to articulate clearly in all verbal and written communication.
  • Effective computer skills to be able to work with and manage necessary job-related software and electronic communication: (i.e. Microsoft office365, inventory software, group/team project communication).
  • Able to safely lift 50lb, and safely push, pull a variety of sized items/boxes at City Desk and during shipping/receiving duties.
